Unit 01-02

Inlinex was incepted on 1st April 2008 as a sole-proprietorship by an Internationally certified instructor and a few like minded individuals wanting to promote the sport of Inline Skating. At that point in time, skating lessons were popular but most lessons were only held at East Coast Park. With this, Inlinex recognized that there was an opportunity to reach out to learners by bringing skating lessons closer to homes. With this mission in mind, a van was acquired along with 10 pairs of skates, gears and helmets. After considering several locations, Inlinex finally found a space behind Blk 8 Joo Seng Rd and started teaching skating lessons on weekends there. Soon the small space was bustling with people and Inlinex had to purchase more skates and equipment to cater to the growing numbers. Armed with more skates and equipment, Inlinex was now able to reach out to bigger groups and open up a few more locations.

Soon, Joo Seng even had students coming all the way from Commonwealth Avenue and Woodlands through referrals. Inlinex opened up skating lessons at Tanglin Halt and Damai Rd to reach out to more people all over Singapore. Inlinex knew that opening more locations was vital to their continued expansion and to capture more of the market share dominated by bigger companies. A second van was acquired together with more skating equipment and Inlinex started offering skating lessons at Bedok Reservoir Park, Punggol Park and Choa Chu Kang Park. Inlinex stepped up its recruitment process to find reliable and committed instructors. Instructor training was conducted to get all our instructors internationally certified, sometimes even after working hours to cater to the instructor’s day jobs

After one year, Inlinex had taught more than 400 students.

Plans were made in 2011 to open our first shop as our students had to go to our competitor’s store to buy their skates. Inlinex opened its first flagship store along Circuit Road. It was a HDB shophouse and the location was secluded but it was best Inlinex could do with its shoestring budget. Secluded as the store was, it was actually easily accessible for our students in Punggol and Bedok Reservoir. Soon students poured in to purchase skates. Inlinex knew they had to take care of these learners taking lessons with us for their unwavering support. Inlinex offered unbeatable savings for students buying skating products. As word got out about the services offered by Inlinex, people from all over Singapore came and we served countless satisfied customers. Sometimes even building friendships lasting till today.

By the end of 2011, Inlinex decided to bring their flagship store to a better location with better human traffic and public transport accessibility. A 800 sqft shop inside the Riverwalk Building was chosen and our new store started its operation on 1st November 2011. With a bigger shop, Inlinex had to expand its product line and a team was brought in to identify sellable products and brands. As more brands was offered in store, more people came to our shop. Even non-students were coming to our shops to buy helmets and scooters. The Inlinex brand has become a household name for top end original and quality products and services.

In 2014, Inlinex opened up a new 3000sqft indoor skating rink at an adjacent unit to become the first company to offer indoor skating lessons. Another milestone was reached when Inlinex became Inlinex Private Limited on 1st March 2014. A major revamp on Inlinex Pte Ltd’s website was done to cater to target international sales. Today, Inlinex has delivered products all over Asia with a growing number of purchases from ASEAN nations. Inlinex Pte Ltd will strive to continue bringing in more quality products to our growing customer base in Singapore and from all over the world. Inlinex Pte Ltd will not forget its roots as a company which provided affordable skating lessons for the masses and will still continue to do so. Inlinex Pte Ltd would like to thank those who have had lessons or bought products from us. Our gratitude for your support is deeply appreciated. Our mission will always be “skating lessons at the most affordable prices”.
